Hello!

Thank you so much for visiting the portfolio for George the Dev.

You will find descriptions of my current and past employments. These will show that I’ve made an arc from a Research Scientist to a Senior Software Engineer. This path does not go in a straight line.

There are also blurbs on my hobbies such as vintage music electronics, some gardening, and spicy salsas!

PyCascades 2026

It was such a blast to attend the PyCascades 2026 Conference! I hadn’t been to a real in-person conference in years! (Think pre-pandemic)

The in-depth python talks were an inspiration and got me back into thinking about python. I’ve got some ideas brewing for some personal projects. I might even think about putting together a talk for a future conference!

Jorge Zorro and Zorro Music Electronics

It starts so long ago.

We will just go back to 2009. I was getting back into electric guitar after playing acoustic for a while. I disovered Brian Wampler’s book on pedal mods. I got a cheap soldering iron from Radio Shack and set up a workspace in my garage. Then I got busy with modding and repairing pedals.

You can find some photos and stuff over at my music web site jorgezorro.com. The web site is a bit clunky. It was done in React and I’m not yet a master of CSS.
